Don't Miss It

Don’t get so distracted by the small things that you miss the big things. Ask God to show you the big picture.

We live in a day and age where it’s so easy to get distracted by things that are within our reach. We have our phones, social media, troubles in life, and a million of other things that can take attention off of Jesus. The enemy is a mastermind at using distraction to take our focus off of Jesus.

Distractions will cause

you to miss the miracle that’s been set in motion.

There’s a story in the book of Mark 6:45-56 where we see that the disciples were so distracted by the storm they were facing that they missed the miracles Jesus was performing right in front of their eyes.  How many times don’t we miss what God is doing in our lives because we’re distracted and have set our eyes on other things? We’re so focused with the little things that we miss out on the big things. Jesus was literally walking on water but the circumstances surrounding the disciples clouded their vision. The storm seemed too big, when the reality was that Jesus was bigger than the storm. Oftentimes we miss our moment because we’re so fixated in what we are going through. That stormy seasons you are in can serve as a distraction if you take your eyes off Jesus. It can also be an opportunity to see a miracle in motion if you fix your eyes on Him. Ultimately, the choice is ours.

If you find yourself in the middle of a storm, allow me to encourage you today. No matter how strong the winds blow and how fierce the storm rages, do not fear. Your boat will not sink, Jesus is right beside you. Do not give the enemy a foothold, distractions will cause you to miss the miracle that’s been set in motion. He wants you to miss what God wants to reveal to you. There’s a bigger picture He wants you to see. There is more to your current situation than what you see right now— God wants to give you vision so you can see more than what the natural eye can see. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”.

Take a moment to reflect on the things that may have you distracted from what God wants to you. There’s a miracle in motion and the enemy wants you miss it. I pray that we become so intentional with our time and our focus that we never miss what the Lord is doing in our lives.

Be Encouraged, Be Blessed!
