Unapologetic
Today I want us to focus on the topic of: Unapologetic: Focus On What Really Matters. Being bold in our faith takes guts and God is looking for Kingdom-driven, passionate soul chasers to take a stance for Him and to simply bring the Good News to those who don’t know Him. In simple terms, we are called and commissioned to talk to people about Jesus. Easy enough, right? If that were the case, then why is it so difficult for many to share their faith?
What do I say?
What will they think?
Will I look like a fool?
These are questions that many ask themselves and these same questions have paralyzed them from sharing the Gospel. But in the name of Jesus I am declaring that after you read this blog, you will be empowered by the Word of God. I am declaring that the spirit of fear that is holding you back will be replaced with God’s spirit who will enable you to speak boldly to others about your faith in Christ. Sharing our faith isn’t something to be afraid of. It’s something to be unapologetic about.
Jesus gave the Church one purpose: To reach those far from God and teach them to follow Jesus step by step. Imagine if the Church was as focused on that mission today as it was 2,000 years ago.
This is the Great Commission
We have ONE job to fulfill and it is to preach the Gospel
To spread the God News
Imagine if you, me…we FOCUSED (without any distractions) on what Jesus has called us to do regardless of how "hard" or "awkward" or it may seem? How would your home, your family, your work…how would your city look like?
Are you willing to risk your reputation and what others may think or say about you for the cause Jesus? Are you willing to see people as Jesus sees people? The truth of the matter is that everyone matters. That difficult family member or demanding boss, that ruthless professors, that road rage driver, that mean school girl, that rebellious child, that harsh friend…EVERYONE MATTERS TO JESUS AND THEY SHOULD ALSO MATTER TO US.
Imagine if we focused our attention more on what Jesus thinks about us than what people think about us?
What if we stopped protesting, critiquing, being negative and judgmental about everything and everyone. What changes would we see in our society?
Imagine letting go of fear, and the excuses we so often convince ourselves of. What would our lives look like?
Here’s a good one. What if we chilled a bit on social media? What if we did less DM’s, post comments, texting and had more face to face conversations?
If we focused on the things that really matters, we could be the change agent Jesus has called us to be!
He can and still will use the Church to change the world. There is NO hopeless situation as long as the tomb is empty. Jesus is alive and has the power to change anything and everything. There is nothing impossible for God! The Church, you and I need to get back to the mission because the hope of the world is Jesus Christ. You will encounter people in school, at work or in the streets that will need help. And you can provide the solution and say, “I know someone who can help you, someone who can change your situation and his name is Jesus”. You simply need to be unafraid and unapologetic.
God is looking for bold people to do bold things.
GOD IS LOOKING FOR BOLD PEOPLE TO DO BOLD THINGS.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (AMP)
18 But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ (making us acceptable to Him) and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
God gave us the ministry of reconciliation, notice it doesn't say condemnation. He gave us the ministry to reach out to people and connect them to God. It’s not an option, its a mandate! He gave us that ministry, so that by our example we might bring others to Him.
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them (but canceling them).
God did not count their sins against them. So who are we to count their sins against them? We are to tell them about the One who died on the cross for their sins.
He has committed to us the message of reconciliation (that is, restoration to have favor with God).
20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us; we (as Christ’s representatives) plead with you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to God.
We are His ambassadors, His representatives here on earth. We are His hands and feet and His voice.
Represent your school, job, church, Jesus
21 He made Christ who knew no sin to (judicially) be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God (that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness).
When a person is made right with God
Addictions are broken
Strongholds are shattered
Freedom becomes available
Past hurts are mended
Relationships are restored
Forgiveness is given
Sin can no longer hold a grip
…Because Jesus has entered into his life.
Jesus has called us to be bold to preach, to spread the gospel and to help people come to know who Jesus Christ is. If we do our part, He will take care of working out the rest. I encourage you today to simply focus on what you have been called to do and do it boldly and unapologetic. Sow the seed of the Word in people’s hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to make it grow.
Be Encouraged, Be Blessed
