Later Never Comes
Hi friends, I’m excited about today’s blog. I had the honor of interviewing Sarah Nathalié, a Jesus-loving, gifted, amazing talented young woman. God is using her tremendously to bless and bring hope to so many people through her music. I’ve seen Sarah grow up, literally her entire life and for me to see her flourishing the way she is brings me so much joy. I am beyond proud of you Sarah and excited for what lies ahead for you in the future. Thank you for taking some time to share your heart with us today.
To you who are reading this, my hopes is that you’re encouraged to continue pressing forward to fulfill the purpose God has placed in you. The time is now, not later. We all have a purpose in life and if we surrender our ways to Him, He will make it come to pass. I don’t know about you, but I love to see young people passionate about fulfilling what God has placed in them. Let’s pray for the Gen Z, because this is a fearless, creative, and passionate generation who is rising up now. And we need more young people like Sarah who are bold and unaplogetic for Jesus and can utilize their gifting for the sole purpose of God’s Kingdom.
We should grow through difficult times
instead of allowing them to destroy us because God’s grace is more than enough to sustain us.
1 Tell us a little bit about yourself..
Blessings and warm hugs to everyone reading! My name is Sarah and I am 20 years old. My family is entirely Dominican in ethnicity, but I was born here in the state of Florida. I love to sing, write and produce music in the comfort of my bedroom! Making music has become one of the primary ways I spend time with Jesus- since I dedicate those gifts to him. I'm a dog momma and I love my friends and family with a passion! I'm very excited to be able to express myself in this new way, that is blogging. I want to thank my beautiful sister and youth pastor, Landy, for considering me to be a part of her Kingdom tasks!
2. What is one thing people don’t know about you?
One thing people might not really know is that although it may not seem like it at times, I'm very shy and introverted. Despite focusing my studies on the field of Communications, I still struggle to initiate conversations or keep up with them. I have noticed though, that the root cause of that is probably the fear of coming across as not genuine. When I speak to someone, stranger or not, my biggest desire is that they truly feel loved and paid attention to while speaking to me. I can never confirm that they are feeling that which is super nerve wracking, so I'm constantly asking God to intervene whenever I'm speaking, haha!
3. What is one of your most memorable childhood memories?
One of my most memorable childhood memories. Hmm. When I was a child, my older sister and I would always engage in a lot of pretend play. We'd pretend we were office workers; unplug whatever computer keyboards we could find and turn our living room into a doctor’s office. Sometimes we would play what we called, "Princess Academy," where we used different color beads from the Veteran's Day Parade as indicators for certain activities we'd do at the academy. For example, pink beads were for ballroom dance lessons; green beads for gardening, and blue beads for etiquette class. A silly pair, we were. But my most favorite pretend play times were always those that involved music. I remember opening the window on the second floor of our childhood home. We would hold a pretend concert for the insects and as our neighborhood friends came out to play, they'd come cheer us on from the ground! Those are memories I’ll always and forever be thankful for.
4. How did you know you wanted to pursue music?
I don't think I ever really knew what I wanted to pursue until I had a real encounter with Christ. Once I really fell in love with Jesus, and began pursuing Him, all else just fell into place. When I began to make music- it all just made so much sense. I knew it was the Spirit letting me know that this is what I was to do for God's glory and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. A question I ask to myself quite often is, “When did all of this happen?” However, I’ve come to the realization that the only answer to that is God’s purpose and everlasting grace.
5. Name a few of your musical influences.
My musical influences, I’d say is anything and everything that my ears have ever picked up on. I wouldn’t limit it to just singers or genres of music! Sometimes, I’ll hear a random sound and end up getting so inspired by it that I create an entire instrumental based on it. In my most recent years, however, I have taken a special liking to a mixture of R&B, Lo-fi, and Pop. I love chords that evoke emotion and portray the full meaning or feeling behind the song!
6. Had you not pursued music, what would you be doing?
Had I not pursued music; I believe I would have been doing something in the Fine Arts. I was a part of the Symphonic Wind and Marching bands all throughout my Middle School and High School years, so I really have a love for the world of band, orchestra and music composition. I would probably be a composer of some sort. Now, if not music, then I can see myself most likely doing YouTube or being a conference speaker.
7. Do you recall a moment in life when you thought you couldn’t do what you’re doing now? How did you overcome it?
There has absolutely been multiple times where I felt discouraged and like I couldn’t do it anymore. However, I think that as humans, it’s natural for us to feel that way. Its okay. It’s important to notice and remember when you are feeling down about your hobby or calling. When you take the time to sit in those feelings, you’re able to see the growth when you finally stand up again. Now, it becomes dangerous when the root of what you’re doing is not built on a solid and firm foundation. Really setting apart time to include God in whatever it is you do, is the most important thing. 2 Corinthians 12:10 says, “For when I am weak, I am strong.” This just means that through our weaknesses, we can notice our strengths. We should grow through difficult times instead of allowing them to destroy us because God’s grace is more than enough to sustain us. When I was able to understand that this is HIS ministry- not mine; When I realized that I am only a vessel to spread the name of our beautiful King, Jesus; it was only then that I felt motivated to continue. It’s easy to give up on something when it isn’t full of purpose. But Jesus is purpose and making music is my way of sharing that. So yes, sometimes I feel like giving up but then I remember the One who never gave up on me.
8. Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
In the next five years, if Jesus hasn’t returned, I see myself still doing music and interacting with the body of Christ. Despite being shy and semi-bad at communication, I love praying for my brothers and sisters all over the world, getting to know their hearts and making them feel like they have a friend in me. I also see myself in a deeper relationship with Christ because I can’t get enough of him!
9. How would you like to be remembered?
This is a question I would say I can’t answer. I don’t want to be remembered, is the thing. My heart’s desire is solely for the legacy of Jesus to carry on. Of course, I understand that it is inevitable that someone might remember me. So, I just pray that person remembers my love for Jesus. I pray that the way I lived my life, inspires that someone to want more of God and spread His Good News with fervor and passion.
10. What advice would you give someone who wants to pursue their dreams but fear or lack of resources has gripped their ability to just go for it?
I started recording music using my iPhone voice memo app. No microphone, no fancy equipment. I’d just record the files and send them to my email. After converting them to a format suitable for my free program, I’d drag them in and do my best to adjust the EQ in order to make it sound the best I could. In someone else’s eyes, they probably thought I couldn’t make it with what I had. In God’s eyes, I had everything I needed. The Word of God does not stutter when it says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33). People often get stuck on the quality of their lyrics or beats- when all that matters is the quality of your heart. When God sees that you are doing everything you can with what you have, to simply just glorify and worship him, he rewards that. A testimony of mine is just that. In due time, after I had been using my iPhone and laptop for a while, I was gifted a mic, headphones and focusrite by two angels- they know who they are. I will forever be grateful that God used them to bless me and show me that he was pleased with what I was and still am doing- thanks to his grace. I say all of this to say, start now; later never comes as you imagined it. Perfection only exists in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We cannot achieve it. However, we can do our best to glorify God in whatever it is we do. If our worship is true and pure, from the deepest parts of our hearts, God handles the rest.
I truly hope you were blessed today! A big takeaway for me in reading this is determination. There is a saying that says “Where there’s a will, there’s a way” and the resilience of this determined young woman is admirable. She did not allow any obstacles to hinder her way. For many, lack of resources is a big hurdle that many do not overcome easily. The truth of the matter is that it’s easier to make excuses than to tackle your obstacles head on. How many of us haven’t said or still say, I can’t right now, I lack resources, I don’t have the right connections…..I’ll do it later? Let me tell you something, for many people, later never comes because the time was then. And today we’re once again reminded that the time is now, not later.
I would love to read your feedback; let us know what you thought about this blog interview by commenting down below. And as always…

Poet illustrates the thoughts of a believer when they encounter Jesus Christ. The love he gives us is so overwhelming- it calls for giddiness! Some of us express our thanks in song, some in acts of service, some in poetry, etc.! This song was also inspired by David and his dedication to writing Psalms for the Lord. -Sarah Nathalié
